So, day 4 of having no energy, an ugly chesty cough with wheezing, and a neverendingly snotty nose made me decide to go ahead and see a doctor just to make sure that Avian Sinus Infection I had last weekend hadn't turned into Avian Pneumonia or Consumption. 1 hour and 2 1/2 magazines later, I'm told that welp, it looks like the same nasty virus that's just going around, heh heh! Darn. No easy fix prescription drugs. Just more sleep and liquids. Oh well, at least my appetite is back, cause I've got some big plans for dinner tomorrow night.
Heidi loaned me this great cookbook by Nigel Slater, a British chef. Simple, yet sensuous. I'm thinking warm potato, spinach & parmesan salad, followed by garlic prawns, roast chicken drumsticks with honey & orange, and finally Nigella Lawson's Sticky Chocolate Pudding. Yum! I'm sure Sam will think of a way to add some curry powder into these recipes; we'll see.
In other news... I didn't realize how taxing constant illness can be on a relationship/ marriage. I mean, I suppose this is why the vows say 'in sickness or in health'. Being a 99.9% healthy person, I pretty much didn't really think this one out before, but since about day 5 at the ol' day care I have been either sick or half-way recovered. And its been stressful! I don't know if Sam & I can take it, to be honest. This, aside from the emotional stresses involved with herding the little guys 8 hours a day. But rather, we're having our doubts on the wisdom of subjecting our marriage to these stresses, especially with various family stresses back in England. But, yes... we'll see. Just have to figure out what to do, I suppose.
Also, Sam is supposed to hear from Alabama this week, oh boy!

And of course you'll be sharing these delicious sounding recipes with our little blog, right? Right? I hope you are feeling better soon. This is good practice for Sam in the art of taking care of a sickly wife. Can't wait to hear about Bama!
Hallo beauty,
Glad you're loving the cookbooks...that warm spinach/potato salad rocks the casbah for sure. Am almost comatose on the couch, but wanted to say hallo... Been loving spending time with your g'ma. Maybe it makes me feel better about not being in Illinois with Gram, but...when I finally get around to calling her she'll be glad that I'm still hanging with the over 80 crowd. :) Nisha and I would like to cordially invite you and Sam over for curry sometime, or invite ourselves over to your place to cook you curry. Either way. After the 6th of March though -
Smooches, heids
