The sights & sounds of Freedom.
Well, it was a fantastic 4th among the Negus & Stuart conjoined households. There's nothing like sleeping in on a holiday. And, I think I kind of liked the 4th being on Tuesday after all, since it was just one half-ass day at work, and then, woo! day off. And some people I know even basically just kicked around a soccer ball all day and got paid for it.
So, highlights included:
1. Waking up in a highly leisurely fashion & enjoying some tasty eggs & tomatoes and coffee.
2. Playing darts (thanks to Doug for teaching us cricket darts).
(3.) I would put the Germany v. Italy game here but it wasn't all that exciting. Poor Germans. Sam was torn between not wanting the World Cup to have to go to a swarthy Southern-European country and feeling glad that the Germans get to feel the same aching disappointment as England.
3. Sam walking down the street to the neighbor's pool, dragging an ice chest of beer, singing the Star-Spangeld Banner as loud as possible whilst wearing an England practice jersey and England cricket hat.
4. Swimmin' and drinkin' by the pool with the whole fam and others.
5. 4th of July feasting.
6. More darts.
7. Sam, barefoot in the front yard, swinging two sparklers in each hand, pipe in mouth, mumbling about the those blasted British, and Freedom!
8. Me almost beating Sam at darts. 2 points away!
9. And, can't forget, my special consolation cake, just for Sam.

Happy 4th of July, babe!

And from the picture I see there was a little Hewey action to top off the day. Can't beat it.
Oh you bet! Hewey made a special appearance just for the occasion!
I miss Henry!!
Old Man Henry, still grumpy as ever!
This is my favorite post from your blog ever! Especially these two parts:
3. Sam walking down the street to the neighbor's pool, dragging an ice chest of beer, singing the Star-Spangeld Banner as loud as possible whilst wearing an England practice jersey and England cricket hat.
7. Sam, barefoot in the front yard, swinging two sparklers in each hand, pipe in mouth, mumbling about the those blasted British, and Freedom!
I feel like I was there : )
